The House of Somerset, Gateway to the South West - a Visitor Destination and meeting point for producer and consumer, setting a standard by which others are judged where only locally sourced fabulous food and produce is sold.
Join us in a journey to reawaken the history of a great cloth town and showcase rural Somerset, the breadbasket of England, with 8,500 food, drink and farm producers, the largest concentration of any county in the UK.
The House of Somerset will be located
just off Junction 26 of the M5.
The Visitor Destination will promote Wellington as the independent retail centre of Somerset, with a Visitor Centre, Battle of Waterloo experience,
Food Court, Pannier Hall and Farmers Market.
It will be a showcase for Somerset food, drink and farm suppliers in Somerset, where visitors can buy produce to take away a taste of Somerset, or consume on site at one of the pop-up restaurants serving Somerset-sourced food and drink.
The House of Somerset will celebrate Somerset, its producers and products.
We are inspired by pride in our wonderful County and a desire to connect our hard working producers and their products with a wider audience.
We want the House of Somerset to be the Somerset experience - our guiding principle is that everything we do and sell is rooted in the countryside around us and its people.
We aim to establish an unsurpassed reputation as the pre-eminent centre for locally produced goods.
The building will be centred around our core belief in sustainability and using renewable energy, a beacon for future development which will seek to promote harmony with nature and its surroundings.
